Cross-marketplace order and inventory synchronisation
An event-driven reconciliation engine that keeps stock truthful across every sales channel, so an item sold on one is never still for sale on another.
This example comes from the technical delivery experience behind AussieSync. It does not necessarily represent a project contracted directly through AussieSync.

01 Problem
An item sells on one channel while still showing as available on another, and the oversell is discovered by the customer.
- Each marketplace held its own view of stock, and none of them agreed.
- Batch sync ran on a schedule, so the window for an oversell was every interval.
- Connector retries re-applied the same order, double-decrementing inventory.
- Nobody could see the true position without exporting from several systems by hand.
02 The solution
Event-driven synchronisation through a central reconciliation engine with idempotency.
- Channel events flow into one reconciliation engine that owns the authoritative position.
- Every inbound order carries a stable key, so a replayed webhook is recognised and ignored.
- Stock deltas propagate outward to every connector as events, not on a timer.
- An order-to-warehouse pipeline carries the order through to fulfilment without re-keying.
- Live operational visibility replaces the manual export-and-compare routine.
03 Technical approach
Every choice earns its place.
- Node.js & GoMicroservices per connector, isolated so one channel cannot stall others.
- Event queuePropagates stock deltas immediately rather than on a schedule.
- PostgreSQLThe single authoritative inventory position.
- ElasticSearchFast catalogue search across a large multi-channel product set.
04 Outcome
No oversells or phantom stock, faster fulfilment, and a live view of the real position.
- No oversellsor phantom stock across channels
- Fasterfulfilment through an automated pipeline
- Livevisibility replacing manual reconciliation
